Unfortunately, due to an exclusivity agreement with FedEx, we can only ship using their services and the rates that you see during checkout are the lowest rates FedEx will give us for AK and HI shipping. However, you may be able to get cheaper shipping through third-party package forwarders. 

We're not affiliated with any forwarders, so we can't advise on pricing, rates, or their exact procedures. However, forwarding companies can often get cheaper rates due to the volume of shipments they send out and due to greater access to a wide variety of carriers. When you use a forwarder, you'll typically create an account with them and provide your physical address, and they'll give you a shipping address in the contiguous US that you'll use to checkout with on our (or any other ecommerce) site. When we ship the order to that address, it'll then get forwarded on to the address you've set up on your account with the forwarder. 

There are plenty of forwarders out there, and we recommend doing some research to see which one will work best for you. https://www.shiptoalaska.com/ is a common one for those in Alaska, while https://www.shiptohawaii.com/ is an example of a forwarder for Hawaiian locations. If you contact the forwarder ahead of time with your shipping address and the box size and weight of the item you're ordering (which we're happy to provide if asked), then they should be able to give you a quote on the shipping cost before you place your order.
