Do I need to disassemble the wheel to return it?Updated 3 months ago

Yes, due to the wheel's large diameter, you will need to disassemble it in order to return it in the original box. If you attempt to send back an assembled wheel in an oversized box, please be aware that you will need to pay for your own return shipping and we cannot reimburse those charges. We recommend against attempting this, because you may end up paying several hundred dollars in shipping fees (due to the oversize fees that most carriers charge) and there is a much higher likelihood of the wheel or box being damaged in transit and not being properly delivered.

If you're not sure how to disassemble the wheel, make sure you remove the traction pads first—these pads cover both side rims and center tracks, keeping them together. You won't get far if the pads are still on. If you're having trouble getting the pads off, you can also take a box cutter or X-Acto style-knife and score the pads along the seams of the parts. This will allow you to take the parts apart even if the pads are still in place.

After removing the pads, you'll need to take one side rim off the wheel. This is the hardest step, and once it's out of the way, everything else will come apart relatively easily. Press the tabs along the edge of the side rim and wiggle it away from the center tracks to break that connection. If a couple tabs snap, it's no big deal—all the parts are going to get ground up and melted down into new plastic anyway. Just do your best to keep as many parts as intact as possible, since our grinder has trouble properly processing small shards and pieces.
